"When I was an undergraduate student, I traveled to Honduras with a group of students. We volunteered to build infrastructure for the local community and orphanages. I can vividly recall walking into a room of young children aching for human affection from touch starvation. I felt their longing viscerally... at a core depth of human connection that is almost inexplicable. We do what we do in hopes that less people feel that painful longing for connection in this world.
